I didn't know we had so many state employees who are veterans. Thank you for your service. You enable us to have a life so many people take for granted. Freedom is not free, right? Especially during this time of war and post 9/11, THANK YOU.

Thank you For your Military Service

Postby Tamara » Wed Nov 04, 2009 1:54 pm

It takes a special committment to leave family, friends, the places we know and love to enter Military Service. The time away is hard, the training is intense and challenges one to the very core of your being. Then you are sent off to serve your country usually far, far from home, usually in very difficult circumstances, for what seems like a very long lonely time. I am so proud of all who have served in and are now serving in our Military. I am also proud of the State of Georgia for being so willing to Employ those who have served in the Military. I salute each and every one of you and pray for you daily.
Tamara

Semper Fi
Thanks to the veterans who now work for the State of GA.
Prehaps one day the administration will let YOU buy your military time and truly be recognized.

I am very grateful for all your service. I was also unaware of the number of state employees that are retirees/active duty military. Thank you so much for your service. I would also like to thank your family.

I certainly hold our veterans in high regard. My husband is a veteran of the US Navy. Both his mother and father served in our US Army. I'm very proud of their service and thank our Lord for their safe return from each war they fought. "We live in the greatest country of all. Our flag flies for freedom. All have given some... but some gave it all so we could be Blessed". Thank You Veterans for your service! Thank You veteran's families who spent restless days and nights praying for their strength while on they were on foreign shores!

We need to petition the State to make a law that would allow any veteran employed by the State of Georgia and who has Georgia State Merit retirement, to be able to "count" their service years towards their retirement, whether it's during wartime or not. A bill was voted on in the Legislature a few years ago, but instead of allowing State Merit employees to count their service years, they passed it to allow the Legislators to be able to count THEIR years!! That is not right.

Thank you to each and every person that has chosen to serve in all branches of our Armed Forces. I appreciate the freedom that you have provided for me and my family. I thank your families also for what they have given for this country. May the Lord bless you, protect you and provide for you in ways you never knew possible.

May God bless all those who serve in public service. While I can't understand why someone would hurt those who already sacrifice so much for our country (the Fort Hood shooting), I'm reminded of how great the sacrifice is whether on American soil or away. Thank you.

I can't thank you enough for your service. You have chosen a profession that so many aren't brave enough to do. Thank you for your dedication and service to our country. Words aren't enough to express the gratitude I have for each and every past, present and future serviceman and servicewoman. Thank you for all that you do!
